Then you will probably need to follow an integration programme.
You also need to follow an integration programme if you travelled to the Netherlands at a young age and haven’t received a great deal of Dutch education.
You will receive a letter from the council if you need to follow a compulsory integration programme.

Are you going to be following an integration programme? Then you will be given a programme which suits you. You will first need to complete a test at the DWI to find out what you already know. You will subsequently discuss the programme with your customer manager.
The integration course always consists of a Dutch language course and a course on Dutch society. You will also need to partake in practical activities. This will teach you about work, education and schooling in the Netherlands.
You need to pass the integration examination within 3,5 years. You will be issued with an integration certificate once you have passed the examination. You will then be sufficiently integrated in Dutch society.
